Long Awaited Update...

So, I know it's been a while since my last post (though I'm not sure my posts are even read by anyone).  I've been kept busy with lots of new ideas and projects, cakes and cookies, mine and hubby's mother's day gifts, catching up with Lost before the finale...and my real job.  If you've read some of my older entries, you know there's been a lot of stress fluttering around my world for a while.  It's still here, but I'm working around it...trying to 'delight in the little things', rejoice in every day as a gift from the Father, and be patient and content and useful where I am.

My 'creative outlet' has been growing!  Yes, I'm most definitely still bobbling things, breaking needles, making cupcake frosting too runny, flopping on a first try with homemade bread, and burning....my hand......on the top of the oven......while pulling out a cake just this evening.  I've officially run out of flour, but am slowly stocking my shelves with things every good cook needs -- food dye (neon included), corn starch, baking powder & soda, cream, lemon and lime juice, a few flavor extracts, and some good evoo.  Sometimes hubby looks at me funny while we're grocery shopping because I'm not getting the 'normal stuff' like frozen pizzas and little debbie's.  I tell him he might not have a clue what any of it is, but it's for his future good.  Speaking of le hubby, he's been a tremendous food guinea pig for me.  He's SUCH a picky eater, but he tries everything!  He's so good to me....he came home from work the other day, took off his boots, and vacuumed the living room floor!

Linky Baby's big!  He's just over a year and is our sweet boy.  He's growing more calm and mature and less crazy kitty like everyday.
He spends a lot of time here...almost like he's guarding the bedroom.  haha.

Not having a super professional job has one great perk:  I can still be funky with my hair & dress and can hang on to my nose ring for a while longer....sooo, my friend Courtney and I decided to have a little fun with our hair.  She dyed her's auburn inspired by Scarlet Johansson and I.....put in a blonde streak!

It's fun.  I. love. it.

Craft-wise, I've got a few pictures....the little $2 shelf?  I didn't do muuuuch with it.  Just painted it a new color and attempted to distress it some.  Here's how it turned out:

I like it!  I just haven't found any good place to put it yet!

My childhood kitchen stool?

I kind of wanted to stay away from a 'country kitchen' style but I couldn't help smearing the colors...I just couldn't get it to come out right so I just dabbed my brush with white paint and scribber-scrabbered on it.
I haven't finished the little whacked out Christmas basket...but I looove how it's coming!  Posting it soon!

Whew.  I've got more to tell, but it'll have to wait....got to get some sleep because not everyone gets Memorial Day off work.
