Ok. So, I ran through this tutorial forever ago via youtube. It's a basic guide of creating solid textured paper to compliment a patterned paper. Now even though it just addresses making solids, you can definitely expound on it to make more complex patterns.
I played around with it at first in my Photoshop CS3, but never really got back around to doing anything solid. Well, I finally did! I don't think it's perfect, but I dooo like it! It's the new background you see to your right & left! I'm a big fan of this color....pale tealish....anything in this family, and had been wanting to make something that really went with my header. I did have another teal background that I liked a lot from Shabby Blogs, I just wanted my own!
To make it, I used my Firefox Colorzilla eyedropper (loooove) to pick a color out of my header up there, used the tutorial's suggestions in Photoshop and voila! I then used the parts of Amanda's tutorial on installing the background image via photobucket or webs.com (whichever you prefer). Now, I LOVE everything that Amanda does, and have had complete success with everything I've done with her tutorials. However. I had trouble with code editing this time. I couldn't get it to install properly for the LIFE OF ME! Blogger saved my code adjustments with no fuss, but the background wouldn't show up on my blog...it was all white. It was late, and I was sleep deprived, and I really wanted it to work. So I did a quick google search and found this short tutorial from Color with Caryn. It's basically the same, but the wording of some of the commands are a little different. Nonetheless, it worked!
So. Do you like it?! You should give it a try!

I like! (Even though I just came over from Not so Homemade's blog hop and didn't know what it looked like before. :) Thanks for posting how you did this, I spend hours and hours looking for cute digital scrapbook paper for my blog and it took forever to find what I wanted. Making it would have been so much easier!

Your blog is so cute, I love the fact that both you and your husband are red heads. I come from a family of red heads. My sister and father. I am following your blog now.
I love it, and would totally try it out, but I don't have photoshop! This looks great though.
